Starboyz Stuntfest – Sandusky, OH
The weekend of June 13th & 14th, kicked off the 9th Annual Starboyz Stuntfest in Sandusky, Ohio. Although, Sandusky is known for the legendary Cedar Point, there was no playing around out on Sandusky Speedway where the competition was being held. Josh Borne joined some of the nation’s top Freestyle riders for one of the oldest and most famous competitions in the industry. Competing for a beautiful new Yamaha R6 (sponsored by Powersports 360, a J&J Sales company) and $10,000 in cash prizes, riders tested their technique and precision in four categories: individual freestyle, fastest wheelie, longest stoppie and freestyle obstacle course. Along with the highly intense competition, The Farmer Boyz were there to help entertain the crowd throughout the weekend. Announced by the famous Starboyz, Scott Caraboolad and Kevin Marino, along side guest announcer Chubbz from Bike Styles, this popular two-day event attracted hundreds of fans, vendors, sponsors and riders. Even through technical difficulties with his Honda CBR600 F4i and a still injured sciatic nerve, Josh Borne placed fourth in individual freestyle, sixth in longest stoppie and fifth in the overall competition.
“I would like to have done a little better overall, but with my CDI box going bad in the middle of the competition and then bending my shift forks jamming the transmission, it was a little tough to deal with. It just wasn’t my weekend, but that’s how it goes. Some days everything goes right and others you have to just smile and bare it. Thank you so much to everyone who helped out with my bike and back problems throughout the weekend. It is a great feeling when you have wonderful people surrounding you in an effort to help get you back on the track.” – Josh Borne
Josh Borne and everyone at Borne Freestyle Entertainment would like to thank Travis and Andrew from Street Shenanigans, Craig Farmer from Farmer Boyz and Rob Baryo from Great Lakes Powersports for working so diligently on the Honda CBR600 F4i. Travis we are grateful for all the parts you donated off your bike to keep the Borne Freestyle Machine in the competition. We also want to send out a colossal thanks to Kevin and Scott with Starboyz for donating a Kawasaki 636 for Borne to ride in the fastest wheelie and obstacle course portion of the competition. It is fantastic to see how members of the freestyle community come together when a fellow rider is in need.
