Hot Import Nights (HIN) Car Competition – Columbus, OH
On Friday, September 11th, Josh Borne took first place at Stunt Syndicate’s Streetbike Freestyle Challenge. The prestigious competition was held at Hot Import Nights National Tour in Columbus, Ohio. Known for beautiful girls, drift cars and freestyle, HIN merged sizzling style with intense speed at the Ohio Fair Grounds.
Bright sun and mild temperatures made conditions ideal for the streetbike extravaganza. With an arena the size of a football field, some of the best riders on the circuit geared up for a day of extreme riding. With room galore, Josh Borne was eager to hit the pavement with his competition bike. He wasted no time performing flawless switchback Christs and long distance target stoppies.
As the competition heated up, Josh’s spreader circles and wide seat standers exhibited the pro-athletes perfect execution and technical ability. A few handstands added an acrobatic element to the action packed individual freestyle. Josh’s stoppie finale up to a girl for a helmet kiss was an instant crowd pleaser.
After a short break, the competitors headed to the arena for Team Challenge. Both Andy Niles and Josh Borne teamed up with Eric Petitt (a.k.a. E-Brake) for this leg of the competition. Following the leader quickly became Andy and Josh playing to the crowd with simultaneous wall stalls, in sync stoppies, and circle burnouts. Bringing their bikes inches away from each other, the two friends entertained the masses while having more than a little fun.
“I’ve ridden with Andy a lot in the past. We are used to each other’s riding style, it allows us to put on a synchronized, highly technical show.” –Josh Borne
The audience was not the only ones enjoying this freestyle ensemble. The judges applauded and cheered the pro-athletes’ performance. The event was so popular that it pulled spectators away from the Hank Williams Jr. concert on the main stage. To keep the country legend happy, officials quickly wrapped up the exhibition riding directly after announcing the winners.
Josh placed first overall in Stunt Syndicate’s Streetbike Challenge, first in the individual freestyle and first in team competition. Columbus native, Andy Niles took second place in individual freestyle and team competition, while Todd Grundish placed a respectable third.
“The arena was perfect for this competition. When you have enough room, you can really show spectators and judges what these bikes are capable of. ” –Josh Borne
Josh Borne will perform at American Harley-Davidson’s Fall Open House on September 26th in Ann Arbor, Michigan and at American Harley Davidson’s bike night at the Shark Club on September 30th in Howell, MI.
