Yamaha/XDL Exhibitions – Indianapolis, IN
Saturday, August 22nd, Yamaha kicked off a countdown to XDL’s final 2009 National Championship Series. The celebration of Sportbike’s finest commenced at Dreyer Motorsports with a freestyle demo by nationally ranked pro-athlete, Josh Borne. Joining Josh was fellow XDL competitors, Dan Ferris (Drastic Dan) and Eric Pettit (E-Brake).

Although the event was disrupted by an unscheduled rain storm, the freestyle riders sneaked in some sick tricks and intense moves in true XDL form. The audience cheered as the athletes showed off their technical expertise with tight circles and fast paced spreaders. A few switchbacks, handstands and Christs added a little acrobatic flair to the adrenaline filled afternoon. The first of several demos leading to the National Competition in Indianapolis, Dreyer set the pace for a week of high-energy freestyle riding.

On Monday, August 24th, the countdown to XDL National Finals continued at Action Motorsports in Lafayette, IN. Spectators lined the riding area in anticipation of seeing world renowned freestyle extraordinaires, Josh Borne and Bill Dixon. Josh Borne began the Yamaha sponsored event with high precision stoppies and challenging tank circles.
“When demonstrating my XDL Championship skills, I try and do tricks that are fundamentally difficult and technically demanding. It lets me showcase elements that freestyle riders exhibit during a competition.” – Josh Borne
On Tuesday, August 25th, talent collided with mammoth sprockets and grinding gears as top freestyle riders clutched it up for a little fun and friendly sport at Thompson Motorsports in Terre Haute, IN. Teaming up for a one-of-a-kind show, Josh Borne, Bill Dixon and Sean Parrish heated up the pavement with sportbike grandeur. It was not long before the audience was involved in the freestyle extravaganza. Three lucky girls received simultaneous stoppie kisses from XDL’s best. After the show, the pro-athletes signed autographs for fans of all ages.

Borne Freestyle Entertainment and Josh Borne would like to give a special thanks to Yamaha and Kevin Gieler for inviting Josh to be a part of the Yamaha XDL Countdown Demo Series. In addition, Josh would like to thank Dan Ferris, Eric Pettit, Bill Dixon and Sean Parrish for a fun and professional riding experience.
