On Sunday, August 9th, the heat index sky rocketed in Novi, MI as chrome and horsepower competed for best in show at the Yourwhip.com’s Midwest Showdown. Over 1,000 car enthusiasts visited the Rock Financial Showplace with one thing in mind…hot cars and extreme bikes.

Josh Borne stole the attention of all the adrenalin junkies and car aficionados when he revved up his CBR600 F4i competition bike. The crowd quickly poured out into the courtyard to catch a glimpse of the freestyle streetbike extravaganza. Sharing the arena with Michigan’s youngest stunt team, the Farmer Boyz, Borne took turns thrilling the crowd with Stoppie kisses and combo wheelies. Even Speed Channel’s, Nate Prichett of “Pinks,” joined the action with a classic tap on Borne’s new Scorpion helmet.

Plymouth Motorsports decked out the pro-athlete with a new 2009 Scorpion helmet and brought out their top lines for display. A crowd favorite was the 2010Can -am. Fans of all ages asked how they could test drive and buy the flashy red Spyder! The brand new Yamaha R1 was also highly admired by the audience. Showing their support in yellow and black style, Hooligan Industries set up a 10×20 booth which housed WERA Competitor, Rob Rowles’ two sleek speed demons, a CBR600 RR and Yamaha R6.

Inside the multitudes of fans admired a wide collection of custom classics, super-muscle cars and smooth and sleek low riders. Chuck Hollywood from ESPN’s Madden Nation was seen touring the Hydraulic Exhibition, while Cody Stage Fright, J. Harden and P.L. kept the rhythm kickin’ with a live performance on stage.
